Earlier this year I attended FITC (Future Innovation Technology Creativity), a design conference focusing in on the merge between design and technology. I was intrigued by a user-responsive installation project by Red Paper Heart, an interactive design studio based in New York City. I felt it displayed as a great example in the possibilities for integrating design, coding and technology jointly.
The installation allows guests to hand pick ingredients for their cocktails on a special bar surface that illuminates their selection at first touch. As the drink is mixed in a cocktail shaker equipped with a wireless sensor, a unique artwork is projected and composed based on the speed and strength of the shake and the selection of ingredients.
The final result is a customized drink paired with a unique computer generated work of art. All together creating an immersive personalized bar experience.
